Phivos Doukanaris is an accomplished swimming coach with over ten years of coaching experience, specializing in competitive swimming. Since January 2015, he has held the position of Head Swimming Coach at the Larnaca Nautical Club, where he has developed innovative training programs, contributing to the athletes’ progress and preparation for national and international competitions.
During his practical training, he worked alongside top coaches in Greece, Hungary, and Australia, gaining valuable experience in an international coaching environment.
As an athlete, he had a distinguished career in competitive swimming, proudly representing Cyprus in international competitions, winning medals at the Games of the Small States of Europe, and setting national men’s records. During his military service, he was a member of the Athletes’ Company and was honored by the Cyprus Swimming Federation as the 2nd Best Cypriot Swimmer for two consecutive years.
He holds an MBA in Sports Management, a BSc in Sports and Exercise Science, and a Coaching Diploma in Swimming, awarded through a scholarship from the International Olympic Committee. He has completed specialized training in international swimming coaching and holds numerous certifications from top organizations such as World Aquatics, ASCA, ASCTA, ISCA, and ASA.
In parallel, he holds significant roles within the swimming community, serving as the National Coach for Cyprus Paralympic Swimming and as a Swimming Coach at the Larnaca Sports School.
With a vision for the development and progress of his athletes, Foivos Doukanaris continues to promote the sport of swimming, drawing on his expertise, experience, and passion for sport. At the same time, he actively contributes to the growth and promotion of swimming, both locally and internationally.
