The Larnaca Nautical Club is organizing the 2026 KIMON SUP Open Technical Championship, a Middle-Distance SUP Championship of up to 1,300 m, under the auspices of the Municipality of Larnaca and the Cyprus Canoe Federation.

The organizer reserves the right to modify the schedule following the submission of the final entries. Special circumstances may also result in changes to the timetable where deemed necessary.

Registration & Eligibility

Named athlete entries (Form F1) and named crew entries (Form F2) must be submitted to the Larnaca Nautical Club by:

These entries will be considered final.

Participation is open to anyone wishing to compete.

Identification & Equipment Inspection

  • Athletes’ identities will be verified using their national identity cards.
  • Random inspections of boards and equipment will be carried out.
  • The use of a leash and life jacket is mandatory for all athletes.

Course & Race Instructions

Depending on the prevailing conditions, the start may take place either from the shore or in the water.

Any changes will be announced during the Technical Meeting.

Regulations & Special Provisions

The International Canoe Federation (ICF) SUP Competition Rules will apply, together with any exceptions specified by the Larnaca Nautical Club.

Each athlete may compete in one category only, in accordance with the provisions of the official announcement.

Any athlete who has been entered but fails to appear will be excluded from the competition.

Athlete substitutions are permitted provided that the athletes are included in the official athlete entry list (Form F1).

Important

All forms F1, F2 and F3 must be submitted in their original form to the Larnaca Nautical Club by the Technical Meeting. They must be fully completed and clearly written.

An event will only take place if there are at least 3 participants.

Athletes without an individual identification number will not be accepted for the identity verification process.

Protests & Appeals

Protests and appeals will be accepted in accordance with Articles 39 and 40 of the Competition Rules.

Protest fee: €45
Appeal fee: €60

The relevant forms must be completed and submitted to the Race Director.

Awards

The top three finishers in each category will receive medals.

A sandwich and water will be provided to each athlete.

Entry Fee

The participation fee is:

€10 per athlete

No entry will be accepted without payment of the corresponding participation fee.
